Surprisingly blood-free week. I’ve revised the presentation so that it looks more like the book layout as the spreads will be (that’s two facing pages).

Remember: If you want to read it as it comes out, check Insta Twit (@angelabcomics) or even better, the site. But if you also want to join us on Patreon, you will get process posts, too. How I wrote it, drew it, designed it. So far I’ve talked about character design for Isolde, Ambrose, and Mary; editing and critique; and floorplans. If you join us, please feel encouraged to ask any questions.
You’ll get to see things like this, which are my digital “pencils,” and read about /discuss how I make them.
Story Recommendation
This is more of a story teller recommendation: Robin Sloan. I was going to just write about Annabel Scheme, but I loved his other books: Sourdough and Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. Annabel Scheme is more along the lines of actual sci-fi fantasy, but the other two are techy magical realism and I love it! I think Sourdough is my favorite. It starts out like an average day, just a bored, stressed programmer getting her stress out through baking. And then it goes weird. And then it goes weirder. And then it dives off the deep end of weird. That’s his thing. Tech magical realism that just gets weirder. I think I listened to Annabel Scheme on Audible (it is also more of a novella). But the others I read (big ol’ novels).
Stay curious,
Angela
