Hello, my lovelies. I don’t have any pictures yet, but I am sewing a skirt. It has great big pockets. And I am using an old SpongeBob SquarePants flat sheet for the fabric! It is a little dense but I’ll be wearing leggings with it so the roughness shouldn’t matter. It has been quite the learning experience and has used almost two (probably over two by the time I am done) spools of thread. Because I have had to rip out so often. Yeesh. It will be worth it (I tell myself)!
I would have more to share, but I really need to do some photoshoots this weekend. Abe’s photos are just lightyears better than mine.
ECCC! I am still a bit shocked I will be tabling at ECCC in March. A little terrified and a lot nervous and also excited. And I just saw Bruce Campbell will be there. I hope to see you!
Remember old Reginald, who flew away with my cousin Jenny? We had a little photoshoot before he left (which made us late to the party to give him to Jenny) with the thick fungi I made from the Pretty Creepy Dolls pattern. I had so much fun making both of these.
Jenny one year also sent me this fantastic Krmsnas decoration so I had to (make Abe) get a shot of of the three of them: Thick, holiday Mr. T, and Reginald.
We’re closing in on zine workshop, February 1, Saturday, at the Jansen in Lynden. We are going to make a whole bunch of types of zines. It will be very fun. 11-3, feel free to bring a lunch. And I will bring lots of examples to play with. I am always amazed what can be done with some bits of paper! Zines are like tiny little hand-made books. They make a great gift (or Valentine card), are easily reproducible, and fun to share.
I don’t have a recent recommendation because all I have been doing is playing Cozy Grove and scrolling through craft magazines on Libby (through the library). Actually, I can recommend the Mollie Makes magazines! It went on for ten years but unfortunately ended in 2022. But it looks like there are 108 issues you can look through to find all sorts of crafts from quilting and embroidery to . . . okay, I literally can’t think of anything else right now.
I hope your day gets better from here!
-Angela
P.S. Wally greets you.
