I was so organized last week. I wrote a list of what I wanted to include in this newsletter. But then Wally stole it, so I put it somewhere, and of course, now I can’t find it. Ridiculous.
Abe and I are working on a little Krsmnis project for which I made a holly wreath. And it goes perfectly well with the skeletal reindeer pattern I made! This pattern is free through the end of December. I recommend getting it even if just to check out the cute little close-up shots.
I started this Funguy a year ago (or so?) (pattern from Pretty Creepy Dolls; cute patterns, not the best instructions) and found the box I had stored it in. So I decided to finish. Two sides of the cap were sewn together. The body was mostly sewn together but I hadn’t embroidered two of the side pieces. So I finished the body embroidery, embroidered the cap and undercap. Stitched on some eyelids. Added teeth. And that’s some black and pink/purple eye shadow to give it a little extra character. I couldn’t find my pastels so I grabbed the eyeshadow. And then I immediately found my pastels.
A while ago (don’t they all start like this?), I bought a PDF pattern to make a stitch book (from Little Dear). This is going to be a long process, though. I have a few pages done, but this is the one I have been working on most recently: Leaves!
Turned out the stitch book page of leaves was perfect timing. I had a box of amazing cherry green tea that my uncle and aunt brought me from the UK as a wedding present. The box was lovely and had these nice little general brewing instructions. I wanted to keep it, so I cut it out and embroidered it. Next step, I will sew it onto fabric and embroider a frame in the cloth.
This is a sasquatch doll I made up to cut from the sleeve of a t-shirt. Pattern needs some refining but it’s pretty cute. The pins aren’t part of the doll. I am just too lazy to find my pin mushroom sometimes.
I got a big new freelance client! I already have two awesome books scheduled to proofread for them. I am very excited. I will tell you all about it when things start happening…
Christmas movie recommendation: Red One. Started out a bit cliche. Definitely a spoof on superhero movies. But some of the designs are just fantastic. I was 100% sold when the snowmen showed up. I want to talk about them but you should just watch it. The Santa design is fun, too. And makes sense to me. My go-to Christmas movies? The Holiday. Pottersville. Mixed Nuts.
I hope your day gets better from here!

P.S. Wally greets you from his new bed. We get Bark Box (and love it—here’s a referral link), and we got a lot of add-ons for the holidays. One was this bed, which is awesome and came with a pea and a paper crown! Wally was all over this bed, so I had a hard time getting a shot of him not moving.
