You guys. It’s fall. I love it! Tea, sweaters, blankets. The cotton wood trying to take over our driveway is shedding leaves like a nudist who’s been in an office for a month. The other trees’ leaves haven’t even started turning in most cases. But mushrooms galore!
Wild Wonder was last week, so here’s some wondering about the wild. I adore the mushrooms in our yard.
I got really into mushroom spore prints for that week. The first page has them glued in. I split the cap in half because I didn’t know if it would have light or dark spores. Turns out, light. IRL, you can just see the spores on the black paper. The shiny spot near on the page is where I taped the desiccated mushroom cap halves. The other page is about our pears. Abe says they are very tasty, if you like that kind of thing. But they were rock hard and take weeks on the counter to ripen. The “Look what I found” note was left somewhere by my mom and I can’t remember what for.
Here’s a process shot of a pencil case I made myself. All that work and I think I need to fix it. But I love it. And I am stoked about how the teeth turned out.
I hope your day gets better from here!
